Children’s Classes

I primarily offer wheel throwing and group hand building sessions. I am more than happy to accomodate a different sized group, or mix and match some wheel throwing and hand building together. Wheel Throwing

Our wheel throwing lessons are lots of fun, but also take a lot of perseverance! We have a minimum of 4 weeks of lessons on the wheel so that children can practice and refine their skills, and also get to experience all aspects of making things on the wheel – throwing, trimming, decorating and glazing. Pieces will be available for pickup 1-2 weeks after the final lesson.

Details:

$40 per person for a 1.5 hour class
Tutoring
Small group – either 1 or 2 students
Everything included – clay, underglaze, glaze, tutoring and other expenses

Lesson 1 – Learning the basics on the wheel – explore and play with the clay. Get a “feel” for the clay.
Lesson 2 – Continuing with the basics (I will help them create something usable in this lesson)
Lesson 3 – Trimming & continuing with basics.
Lesson 4 – Decorating – underglaze and/or glazing. Continuing with wheel throwing if time permits.

Hand Building

There is so much to make and create at a hand building session! Hand building sessions are done in small groups, in four week blocks. Children can either work on their own ideas, or join in with the group project!

Pieces will be available for pickup 1-2 weeks after the final lesson.
